Afton’s Kat Osterberger – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Grove Dental Associates

Afton High School senior Kat Osterberger is finishing her final year of high school in style. The three-sport athlete is competing in four events in track, which will include the 4×100, 4×200, 4×400 and the open 400-meter dash.

Osterberger said she loves competing with her teammates and representing her school.

“What I love most about my teammates is how supportive and encouraging they are,” said Osterberger.

Whether it’s on the track or in the classroom, Osterberger pushes herself to do her best. Making good grades is just as important as winning that gold medal.

“Education is important to me because knowledge is power and it’s something no one can take away from me,” said Osterberger. “My favorite subject is English, and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Straub. She has taught me valuable lessons that exceed English.”

Osterberger competes in cheer and basketball, but somehow finds the time to stay involved in Student Council, FCCLA, National Honor Society, Interact Club and Class Government.

After graduation, Osterberger said she plans on attending the University of Tulsa where she will pursue her bachelor’s degree.

In her free time Osterberger enjoys hanging out with friends and family.
