Fairland’s Mar’keen Webb Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Grand Savings Bank

We caught up with Mar’keen Webb to get his thoughts on the season and his plans for the future.

VYPE: Mar’keen, what grade are you in this year and what sports are you playing?

Webb: I am sophomore. I play basketball, football, and run track. I play point guard, wide receiver, and I long jump.

VYPE: What other clubs or groups are you involved in at Fairland HS?
Webb: I’m involved in National Honor Society.

VYPE: What is your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?
Webb: My favorite subject is Biology, and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Shaw. I think the reason she is my favorite teacher is because she has a unique way of teaching, and she can be funny at times.

VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
Webb: I love that they can trust me on or off the court. It’s a good feeling knowing you have someone’s trust.

VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
Webb: I plan to go to play basketball at the next level.

VYPE: Who is the funniest player on the team?
Webb: Besides me, I’d have to say Josia Bird is the funniest on the team. He’s like the older brother I never had, and I can never take him serious because he can never be serious.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Webb: I like to sleep in my free time or go to the gym and workout.

VYPE: If you could star in a movie or TV show, what show would you pick?
Webb: I would for sure pick the movie Creed. I’ve wanted to box but I just can’t bring myself to actually do it.

VYPE: If you were stranded on an island, name two people you would want with you?
Webb: If I were stranded on an island the two people I would want with me would have to be Josh and Josia. They are my boys and with them nothing could go bad, it’s always a good time when I’m with them.
