Golf is a sport of skill and precision. Grove High School junior Tyler Case is passionate about golfing, and plays 2nd bag for the Ridgerunners.

In terms of what it requires for Tyler to be successful on the golf course, Tyler stated, “It requires hard work. As well as lots and lots of practice. There are no days off during golf season as well as the off-season.”

In regards as to what it means to represent Grove, Tyler did not hesitate to answer.

“To me, representing my school is a privilege, so I must show others what it means to be a student and athlete at Grove High School.”

Many memories are created in high school sports. For Tyler, he fondly has two that stick out the most to him.

“It is a tie for two moments. As of right now it’s between having my personal best placement of fourth at my first high school tournament this year. That, or when I made my first hole in one April 15th, 2023.”

When asked about a role model Tyler stated, “Recently people like PGA Golfer Joel Dahmen and other underdogs are the people I look up to.”

For another professional athlete that Tyler looks up to, he st

ated, “My favorite professional athlete is Jon Rham. He has a different swing than the rest of pro golfers yet that hasn’t slowed him down. His approach to the game is the best compared to others.”

Off the golf course, Tyler is heavily involved with other activities at Grove High School such as Math Club, Academic Team, Safety Committee, Heritage Club, and Interact Club.

After graduating from Grove High School, Tyler plans on pursuing higher education.

“After high school, I plan to attend college and graduate with some sort of engineering degree.”
