Q&A with Miami’s Gabby Raymond – Presented By Nate Long, Statefarm

VYPE: In your opinion, what is the best part about playing sports in high school?

Gabby: The friendships, and making memories I’ll remember forever, surrounded by a supportive community while doing the sport I love and learning important leadership and teamwork skills.

VYPE: What is your favorite memory competing?

Gabby: While I have no “favorite” memory competing, devoting myself to practice and putting in work every day to make myself and my team better is a big part of competing that I’ll remember forever.

VYPE: What do your teammates mean to you?

Gabby: Teammates are important to me because they provide support and encouragement when I need it most. They help me achieve my goals and make me feel like I’m part of something bigger than myself.

VYPE: What motivates you to be your best?

Gabby: High school sports have taught me leadership skills and important lessons that have applied to my everyday life as I navigate through my teenage years. Whether it be school or sports I am constantly working to be the best that I can be; this mindset comes from the role sports have played in my life. I will be forever grateful to be apart of this sport that has shaped me as I’ve grown up.

VYPE: Are you involved in any other sports, clubs, activities, etc.?

Gabby: I play softball, soccer, and I’m a member of stuco and NHS.

VYPE: Is there anyone you look up to as a role model, and why?

Gabby: I owe everything to my parents and coaches. They have been my inspiration since day one, and I am so grateful for their unwavering support and encouragement. Without them, I wouldn’t be the athlete I am today.

VYPE: What are your plans after high school?Gabby: I plan to attend a four-year college, and get my bachelors degree in nursing
