Grove Boys Basketball Team Preview – Presented by Mark Lee Shelter Insurance

GROVE RIDGERUNNERS

BOYS

Coach: Zach Trimble

22-23 Record: 14-11

The Grove boy’s basketball team will be coming into this season with a lot to prove. The team went 14-11 last season andlost two seniors to graduation. Although the team will miss the two seniors, head coach Zach Trimble believes his team can succeed. “The team played well this summer and the boys started growing into their new roles,” said Trimble. He is entering his twelfth year with the team and exclaimed that he is “excited” to see how the season plays out. While the absence of the two seniors is tough on the team, it also allows players to evolve and transform their game. Jackson Gain, a 6-foot-4 junior, will be a key player for the team this season. He averaged 10 points and 5.0 rebounds per game last season and played a crucial role in the team’s success. Another key player for the Ridgerunners is Miles Alexander. Alexander is also a 6-foot-4 junior and will be looking to evolve into one of the leaders on the team. Along with the upperclassmen, the underclassmen at Grove look very promising. While multiple underclassmen could play a role for the team, Avery Petty stands out amongst the rest. Petty is a sophomore who is expected to make a giant leap after his dominant performance during the summer.

Although there will be obstacles, the Grove boy’s basketball team is ready to take on whatever challenges that are thrown their way. Even though the team is young, they have a lot of experience that will be useful in the tough situations they face throughout the season. Using their skill, intelligence, and hard work, the team will find success. With almost an entirely new approach toward each game, it will be very exciting to see how this season pans out for the Ridgerunners.
