VYPE: Shane, what grade are you in this year and what position do you play on the Miami soccer team?
Douthit: I’m currently a senior, and I play as a center mid on the soccer team.
VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at MHS?
Douthit: I love the camaraderie and spirit at Miami HS, especially the support from other athletes and the sense of belonging.
VYPE: Coming into the new season, what goals are you setting for the team and for yourself?
Douthit: The goal for this season is to make a run at the state championship and make memories with my teammates.
VYPE: Where will the team see the most improvement this season?
Douthit: This season, I’ve seen significant improvement in our overall team chemistry.
VYPE: What do you love most about playing with this group of guys?
Douthit: The thing I love most about my teammates is their dedication and the way we all push each other to be better on and off the field.
VYPE: Do you have a favorite subject in school or a favorite teacher?
Douthit: My favorite subject is math, and I have to say, Mr. Adams makes it even more enjoyable.
VYPE: Do you belong to any other clubs or groups at school.
Douthit. No, not at this time.
VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?
Douthit: After I graduate, I aim to go to a four-year school and start work towards my bachelor’s degree.
VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Douthit: In my free time, I enjoy playing golf, and spending quality time with my girlfriend.
