Gracie Cook 

Afton High School

VYPE: Gracie, what grade are you in this year and what position do you play on the Afton basketball team? 

Cook: I’m a sophomore and I play guard. 

VYPE: What has this season been like for you and the team? 

Cook: It’s been great! We’ve for sure learned some communication and improved our teamwork skills. I really want to soak in my time with the seniors of the team. They’ve taught me a lot and I really believe we can end the season on an excellent note.

VYPE: What do you love most about your teammates? 

Cook: I love the relationship that has been built with them and the many lessons they teach me. I also enjoy the friendship we have on and off the court.
 
 VYPE: As a student-athlete, what do you enjoy most about being at Afton HS? 

Cook: Being a student-athlete at Afton has taught me many things. From the coaches who have helped me improve on the court to the teachers who help me improve in the classroom. But most of all I love the connection that they each give you. 

VYPE: What part of your game is most improved this season? 

Cook: I’ve been working on my shot. Just doing different drills and practice is really helping me perfect it.
 

VYPE: Do you belong to any clubs, groups, or play any other sports at Afton?

Cook: I do! I’m in STUCO, FCCLA, FFA, and I also play softball.

VYPE: What is your favorite subject, and do you have a favorite teacher? 

Cook: I really enjoy math. And I wouldn’t say I could pick a favorite teacher but one of the best would have to be my computers teacher Mrs. Wheatley.

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate? 

Cook: I really want to become an ultrasound technician.

VYPE: How do you like to spend your free time? Cook: I’ve been showing goats since I was seven. That takes a lot of free time away but with what little time I have I love spending it with my friends and family.
