9 Questions with Fairland’s Alivia Bartley Presented by Grand Savings Bank Fairland

Alivia Bartley

Fairland High School

VYPE: Alivia, what grade are you in and how long have you played softball?

Bartley: I am a sophomore and I have played for 10 years.

VYPE: How has the season been for you and the team this year?

Bartley: Our team is looking pretty good this year, but we are still working to get better every day.

VYPE: What’s something about this team people may not know?

Bartley: How well we get along with each other on and off the field.

VYPE: Who has impressed you this season and who keeps everyone laughing?

Bartley: The junior softball players impress me the most. Most of them spend their summer playing travel ball and go to camps throughout the year. They have great work ethic and have shown what it takes for a team to be successful. We all keep each other laughing constantly.

VYPE: Why is Fairland a great place to attend school?

Bartley: I have a great group of friends I’ve played player with starting at five years old. I also have great teachers including my mother and my aunt, Jana Bartley and Jeni Kline.

VYPE: Are you involved in other groups or clubs at school? Other sports?

Bartley: I am in STUCO, National Honor Society, fastpitch softball, basketball, and slow-pitch softball.

VYPE: Once you’re done with high school, what would you like to do?

Bartley: I would like to play college softball and become a chiropractor.

VYPE: Tell us your favorite moment competing for the Owls.

Bartley: Making it to the state tournament with no seniors.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Bartley: Most of my free time is spent playing softball, practicing softball, watching my sisters play softball, and church activities.
