Grove’s Tyler Case Athlete Spotlight Presented by Island Time Limo

Tyler Case

Grove High School

Coming into the 2024 season, Grove High School head coach Zach Trimble knew he had a couple of seniors to lean on this year. One of those seniors, Tyler Case, has stepped up and is playing some good golf for the Ridgerunners.

“Case loves the game of golf and works hard at getting better. He is our team leader,” said Trimble.

Case has played the game for several years and has worked hard to make his final year of prep golf his best.

“I’ve played golf since I was 12 or 13 years old. My wedges are where I’ve been improving the most. I am a firm believer that a player can’t score without a wedge,” said Case.

The senior said he enjoys being around his teammates which includes Ty Schlessman (Sr.), Trevor Praytor (So.), Miles Alexander (Jr.), Bryce Longan (Jr.), and Daniel Lehman (Jr.).

“I love how we all can have fun together and the dedication we all have to get better every day. Our team is full of new faces eager to improve throughout the year. Our goals keep getting bigger every week. I think that our team has a great chance to succeed this year,” said Case.

Golf may be his favorite thing outside the classroom, but in the classroom, Case is all about mathematics.

“I belong to several clubs including, Academic Team, Math Club, and Heritage Club. I plan to study mechanical engineering at Oklahoma State University,” said Case.

The course is where you can usually find Case. His favorite course is Flint Ridge in Kansas, Oklahoma, but it’s not where he shot his best round.

“My best round is 71 (-1) at Shangri-La – Legends to Champions,” said Case. For now, golf and school take up nearly all of his time but being a student-athlete at Grove HS has been worth the hard work and dedication it takes to represent his school and town.
