Ketchum’s Hannah Baker Athlete Spotlight Presented by BancFirst Ketchum

Hannah Banker

Ketchum

Hannah Banker is not your typical student-athlete we spotlight in VYPE Magazine. Banker is the manager of the varsity softball team for coach Savannah Brown. The fact that Banker is a manager is not unique to gracing the pages of VYPE Magazine, however being in the sixth grade is.

“I am in the sixth grade and the reason that I wanted to be the manager for Ketchum softball is because I love softball and have loved it for my whole life and the game of softball is just amazing,” said Banker.

Coach Brown said Banker provides a crucial service to the team.

“I couldn’t do it without her,” said Brown.

Banker takes care of several things for coach Brown whether it’s game day or at practice.

“Some of the duties I take care of for coach Brown are any time we have a game I get all of the equipment loaded up on the bus and I help at any of the practices. I just do whatever she tells me to do,” said Banker.

A player herself, Banker said she loves the game and loves being around the team.

“The thing I love the most about being the manager is just watching the game of softball and hanging out with coach Brown and the team. I plan on playing softball in high school,” said Banker.

Softball is not the only sport Banker is involved in at the high school level. She is a manager for the varsity team at KHSand she serves as the historian of Ketchum Junior Honor Society. Banker said away from school, she enjoys playing sports with her sister.

“In my free time I enjoy playing catch with my sister and watching softball and basketball,” said Banker.

The future of Ketchum softball is already on the team. “Coach Brown has made the biggest impact on my life; she has pushed me to be the best that I can. She is the best coach I have ever had. I am actually in middle school, and I like my first hour (athletics) a lot. I can enjoy time in off season softball with coach Brown which is my favorite,” said Banker.
