Quapaw’s Daya Boman Athlete Spotlight Presented by Goodfella’s Pizzeria

Daya Boman

Quapaw High School

As the 2024 season comes to an end, players like Daya Boman of Quapaw High School are already looking forward to next season. Boman, now a sophomore, has played softball for 10 years and is a three-sport athlete at QHS.

“I participate in softball, basketball, track and FFA,” said Boman.

Slow pitch softball is a new sport to the Quapaw High School players and Boman said while it’s new, they are getting better and she’s excited to see just how good this team can become.

“We are new to this sport, but we have a lot of potential. I love their motivation and persistence to get better. They are always there to pick you up after an error or strike out,” said Boman.

Several teammates are making a big impression on the team and the fans.

“My teammate that impresses me most is Naomi Daugherty. She is our first baseman. She is always working hard to make herself better and she is always there to cheer for everyone,” said Boman.

Like many of her peers, Boman said she loves representing her school and community, but it’s the teachers and staff that make it happen for the athletes.

“I love the atmosphere and all of the nice teachers and students. I love how understanding the teachers are of my sports,” said Boman. The shortstop and centerfielder said she enjoys working on softball and hanging out with friends and family when she’s not hitting the books. She hopes to become a Radiology Tech after high school.
