OFFENSE
The Owls will field a young, but talented team in 2024 under head coach Douglas Winters. The team finished 5-6 last season but went 5-2 in district play. Coach Winters is looking forward to seeing this team grow. “We have one senior but a lot of juniors and sophomores. Very good skill people and a young line,” said Winters. Speed is something the Owls will feature in Blake Murray (5-10, 165, Jr.) and Wilton Amos (6-2, 230, Jr.). Coach Winters said Amos is “deceivingly quick” and has “great hands.” Murray is a clutch performer and a tremendous athlete. The pair will cause problems for opposing defenses. Logan Sparks (5-7, 150, Jr.) is another wide receiver the Owls will use to stretch the field. Running back Caine Bowers (5-10, 175, Jr.) will be used in multiple ways out of multiple formations. The offensive line features Carter Ramsey (6-4, 225, So.) who can play center or tackle and Gavin Fairman (5-10, 170, Jr.) who will likely start at guard.
DEFENSE
Amos will play defensive end for the Owls where his quickness and ability to get to the quarterback will be huge. Linebacker Camryn Rollins (6-1, 190, Jr.) has the ability to put together an all-state type performance for the Owls. Rollins can set the tone for the defense and make play after play from his LB spot. Murray will start at free safety giving the defense a player who can read a QB and react quick enough to make a play on the ball. Also look for Sparks and Bowers to find their way to the defensive side as well. The coaching staff consists of Justin Goins, Keenan Webb, Bobby Crawford, and David Gilstrap.
