9 Q’s with Quapaw’s Talan Richardson – Presented by Jim Rexwinkle State Farm

VYPE: Who inspires you?

Talan: My parents and my aunt Corissa have been super supportive throughout my softball

journey. My dad has put in countless hours helping me perfect my swing and

defense, while mom is always there with comforting words when I’m feeling down

or doubting myself. Aunt Corissa is my go-to when I need advice. She pushes

me to be both a better player and a better person.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you?

Talan: Kennedy “Goose” Smith from my Legends travel team. Her attitude and work

ethic are awesome. Also, she hits a lot of dingers.

VYPE: Which professional athlete do you look up to?

Talan: I look up to Grace Lyons because of the passion she shows for the game of

softball and her faith.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade?

Talan: Mrs. Miles has been a big help to me. She not only made me a better student but

also took the time to mentor me personally.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

Talan: I started in T-ball but really didn’t start loving the game until I started travel ball.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Talan: Competing with others on the softball field is seriously the best feeling ever. I’m

super motivated to bring out the best in me when I’m playing softball.

VYPE: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?

Talan: It’s so cool how the community backs us athletes up. Feels like we’re all one big

family.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you

take with you?

Talan: I want to go to Hawaii with all my friends and family.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Talan: Shoutout to all my teammates from school and the travel team. Playing wouldn’t be

the same without you guys. Big thanks to Coach Stand, Coach Aaron, Coach

Daniel, and Coach Kayla too. Last but not least I would like to thank my family for

all of their support.
