2025 Wyandotte Bears – Football Preview – Presented by NEO Orthopedics & Rehabilitation

WYANDOTTE BEARS

Coach: DOUG BUCKMASTER

7-3

OFFENSE

Coaches ask a lot from their players. At Wyandotte the ask is to play hard, play fast and make plays according to head coach Doug Buckmaster. “Every year we will ask our players to “Play Hard,” “Play Fast,” and to “Make Plays!” This year will be no exception and we hope to again put a football team out on the field that is very competitive and fun to watch,” said coach Buckmaster. All of the starters are back on offense including Hunter White (6-0, 180, Sr.) at quarterback who threw for 958 yards with eight touchdowns. White added 78 rushing attempts for 346 yards and eight scores despite missing three games to injury. Kason Threet (5-9, 190, Sr.) will handle most of the run duties again this season. Last year he rushed for 677 yards on 85 carries with eight TDs. Four-year starter Terry Hembree (5-11, 195, Sr.) is back at tight end with Josiah Epperson (5-9, 185, Sr.). A pair of solid wide receivers will look to stretch the field and be factors in the run game downfield. Mason Brown (6-3, 215, Sr.) caught 22 balls for 412 yards and four TDs, averaging 18.7 per catch. Also look for Hagen Lankford (5-8, 175, Jr.) to be a factor as well. Tayton Threet (5-11, 175, Sr.) made 19 receptions for 319 yards before an injury placed him on the sidelines. Other players to watch include Jack Jones, Erik Luna, Jazz Sapp, Casey Harjo, Talon Wyrick, Boston Hotulke, Manny Thomas, and Keynan Wilson.

DEFENSE

Several players will start both ways including White, T. Threet at defensive back with Wyrick (6-2, 160, Sr.) and Avery Lofland (6-1, 160, Sr.). Lankford (5-8, 160, Jr.) gets the nod at outside linebacker with Hembree playing inside linebacker. Last season Hembree made 61 solo tackles, 110 total tackles with one fumble recovery. Also look for Brown and Dawson White (5-10, 165, Sr.) at linebacker. Jack Strong (5-10, 205, Jr.) starts at end with Jack Jones. Others to watch include Jack Brecheisen, Haden Austin, Carter Graham, Randon Brecheisen, Wyatt Payne, and Kade Morrisset.
