OFFENSE
After a productive spring, coach Ron Culwell is looking forward to getting this team on the field and competing in a new district. “We lost some really good players from last year, but we return a good nucleus of really good players. Yes, we will have to fill some holes, but I think we have the guys that will step in for who we lost and compete very well,” said Culwell. Jackson Gain (6-3, 175, Sr.) will run the spread offense and take what the defense is willing to give. His two favorite targets are Isaac Sheffield (6-2, 180, Jr.) and Jacob Gain (6-3, 170, Sr.). Both are wide receivers that stretch the field and run crisp routes. Deringer Hollenbeck (5-10, 165, Sr.) will see time at running back and could have packages that allow him to play QB. Kenny Mitchum (5-8, 145, Sr.) is a possession slot receiver and someone who can give Gain opportunities for quick-hitting pass plays. Cohen Hargis (6-0, 200, Sr.) anchors the offensive line. “We have two really good WRs that will put pressure on defenses. We have a QB that can get them the ball. We need to establish some run game. People need to be ready to defend the whole field because we have a little speed,” said Culwell.
