GROVE RIDGERUNNERS

Coach: JEREMY COLLINS

19-14

OUTLOOK

Entering the 2024 season, the Ridgerunners are in a good spot as head coach Jeremy Collins fields a roster full of players with excellent experience. “We graduated three. Returning seven starters. Returning all three pitchers who got innings in 2023. We look to build on a successful 2023 season. They were young last year and learned valuable lessons and got really good experience,” said Collins. Victoria “Tori” Gonzales (P, Sr.) is a VYPE Top 100 selectee for good reason. Gonzales led the team in innings pitched last season and has excellent command of the strike zone. Another solid player to watch is Emalee Gregg (INF, Sr.) who can play any infield position and is a leader on and off the field for Grove. Other seniors making contributions this season are Holly Brice (INF/OF, Sr.), Alex Dozier (OF/INF, Sr.), and Ella Kernan (OF, Sr.).

Look for juniors like Gracie Dunning (C/OF), Taye’lor Garst (OF), Jenni Hiatt (OF), and Lily Reeves (IF/OF) to step up into larger roles this season. A large class of underclassmen including six sophomores and eight freshmen are on the roster to bolster the lineup. The sophomores include Allie Daulton (OF), Bri DeSilva (P/INF), Jade Dillinger (C/IF), Emmi Shepherd (C), Aubrey Williams (P/OF), and Kinsey Guinn (P/INF). Guinn is an exciting young pitcher who can help Grove now. The crop of freshmen shows a lot of promise and should see playing time this season. Look for Braylee Karnes (P/INF/OF), Jaxyn Berryman (C/INF/OF), Piper Lynch (INF), Emma Mercer (OF), Kynley Smith (INF/OF), Channing Stinnett (INF/OF), Aniyah Darnell (OF), and Nevah Davis (OF) to play a role this season and be a significant part of the team.
