Grand Lake Underclassmen to Watch – Presented by Twisted on Grand

FOOTBALL

Marshall Huddelson – Bluejacket

Marshall will be a freshman that brings a lot of speed on both sides of the ball. He will be a great 1-2 punch with Hicks in the run game. On Defense he will play man coverage as a defensive back. 

Landon Brenner – Commerce

Great kid that tries to do everything right. Has really made some strides in the weight room. 

Laird Thompson – Grove

Laird is a competitor. He is a wrestler that hates to lose at anything. He is a physical guy that is not afraid of contact. He will be ready to set the edge. 

Hunter Carriger – Ketchum

Hunter is a freshman running back and linebacker that is looking at some varsity time this season. He is a fast physical kid that is a three-time powerlifting state champion. 

Josiah Barley – Miami

Josiah has the intangibles to legitimately be a D1 recruit. Coaches are pleased with his work ethic and growth over the last season. 

Thomas Ashworth – Welch

Thomas is a freshman this year, and he plays with a lot of passion and should help contribute immediately. 

Jack Strang – Wyandotte

A freshman offensive guard and defensive end with potential to be a starter on both sides of the ball. Very strong and physical for a freshman in high school with a lot of football savy. 

SOFTBALL

Irish McCleary – Commerce

Irish started every game last year as a freshman behind the plate. She could play multiple positions this year for the team. She gives her best effort every time she steps on the field and will be exciting to watch grow. That cell phone is her mothers number. 

Calli Moncada – Fairland

Sophomore that fought injuries throughout her freshman season. Looking for her to do big things. 

Kenzie Guinn – Grove

Coming in as a freshman, Kenzie is expected to get plenty of at bats and possibly start on a crowded Lady Red infield. 

Jovie Ward – Jay

Very talented athlete that can play multiple positions. Swings the bat really well. 

Talan Richardson – QuapawThis girl will be a sophomore this coming season. She was injured the majority of the season but now will be taking the shortstop position. This girl had some big hits in the district games against Porum which ended up a run rule in the final game. Talan ended up batting a .315 batting average as a Freshman this past season.
