VYPE: Avery, what grade are you in this season and what position do you play for Grove High School? 

Petty: I am a sophomore, and I am small forward. 

VYPE: Every season has its challenges, what has this season been life so far? 

Petty: The season so far has been rough because we’re having a hard time finishing games. 

VYPE: What is the goal for the rest of the season? 

Petty: The goal for the rest of the season is to help my team win as many games as possible and play in districts. 

VYPE: What part of your game have you improved the most this season? 

Petty: My ball handling has improved a lot from last year. 

VYPE: Tell me about your teammates. What do you love most about them? 

Petty: I love being around my teammates because they’re always challenging me and making me work for everything during practice.

VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at Grove HS? 

Petty: The thing I love most about being a student-athlete at Grove is the people that are constantly pushing you to be better. 

VYPE: Do you being to any clubs or groups at school? 

Petty: I don’t belong to any clubs. 

VYPE: Do you have a favorite class or favorite teacher? 

Petty: My favorite subject in school is math and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Thomas.  

VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate from Grove HS? 

Petty: I would like to be a lineman after high school and play college sports somewhere.

VYPE: How do you enjoy spending your free time?  Petty: I enjoy hunting waterfowl with my dad and grandpa and fishing and playing baseball.
