Miami’s Braylon Riley Athlete Spotlight Presented by Goodfella’s Pizzeria

Braylon Riley

Miami High School

As a Miami High School student-athlete, Braylon Riley is involved in football and soccer for the Wardogs. The two-sport athlete said being around his teammates and competing with them makes all of the training and practice worth it.

“I love my teammates in football and soccer as well as my soccer coaches,” said Riley. “I love being able to rely on them on the field as well as being close with them off the field.”

Now a senior at Miami HS, Riley is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win. That include playing multiple positions or doing whatever the team needs.

“I am a senior this year and I play anywhere on defense but mostly Right Back,” said Riley.

Coming into the new season, Riley said he and his teammates are setting goals for the team to accomplish something no soccer team at Miami HS has ever managed to do. Riley said everyone is working on their skills and getting better.

“My goal is to make a deep playoff run and ultimately a state championship,” said Riley. “I think my touch and confidence has improved the most going into my senior year.”

In the classroom, Riley said his favorite subject is his literature class with Mr. Storey and his favorite teacher is Mr. Kaiser. After high school, Riley plans to attend college and pursue a bachelor’s degree.

“After I graduate, I will be attending the University of Arkansas to study at the college of business,” said Riley.

Away from school, you can usually find Riley doing what most students his age are doing. “In my free time I enjoy playing FIFA, watching sports, and spending time in God’s word,” said Riley.

The Wardogs will kick the season off on March 1st at home against Gentry High School before going on the road to Grove High School on March 5th
