KETCHUM WARRIORS
GIRLS
Coach: Clif Warford
22-23 Record: 6-18
First year head coach Clif Warford takes over a Ketchum team that went 6-18 last season, but returns a lineup with experience, which should help this team continue to improve throughout the season. “We have three seniors that will all get significant playing time and will help to provide leadership and experience to our otherwise young team. Jayde Calvert (coming back from an ACL injury) will provide leadership on the court and her high basketball IQ and offensive awareness will be invaluable to our team this year. Fellow seniors Kylee Herndon and Kaydon Robertson both bring toughness and grit to the court and will often be called upon to guard much taller post players,” said Warford. Calvert (5-3) can play a guard/forward type position and be the sparkplug the team needs. Herndon (5-3) is similar to Calvert, while Robertson (5-7) will step up and compete against the opponents bigs. Ashtyn Warford (5-5, So.) moves in from Hilldale HS where she led her team in scoring and was named Honorable Mention All-Conference after starting every game as a freshman. Other underclassmen will look to make big contributions according to coach Warford. “Sophomore Rylie Bailey (5-9) and freshmen guard Avery Vaughn (5-6) are athletic players who will help us out on both ends of the floor. We also have a freshman post, McKynzie Brown (5-7), who is recovering from a leg injury and we’re hoping to have her back sometime this season,” said Warford. The return of Jayde Calvert cannot be understated. Couple Calvert with Warford and the toughness of the lineup, and you have a team that plays hard and will be a difficult team to beat.
