VYPE: Peyton, what is your job on the cheer squad at JHS?

Peyton Stump: I’m a flyer. My job is to stay tight in the air and to get the crowd pumped up throughout the game!

VYPE: What grade did you start cheering and what grade are you in now?

PS: I started in the eighth grade and now I’m a junior.

VYPE: What’s been the biggest surprise so far this season?

PS: Getting selected as Junior Homecoming Attendant for football.

VYPE: What do you love most about this team and your teammates?

PS: The long-lasting relationships I’ve made throughout the years and how we hold each other accountable in order to grow both as individuals and a squad.

VYPE: Who inspires you?

PS: My friend Addie Dingsor. She has been a role model for most of my time at Jay schools. She loves the Lord, is a hard worker, and one of the sweetest people I know.

VYPE: What’s your favorite subject in school and who is your favorite teacher?

PS: My favorite subject is English, but I also love yearbook as my elective. I’ve enjoyed learning more about photography and having the opportunity to capture special moments involving staff and my fellow peers. Mrs. Trujillo is my favorite teacher. She has played an important role in my life over the years, first as my 1st grade teacher, then again as my freshman FACS teacher, and now as my FCCLA sponsor. Her continued support and guidance have had a huge impact on both my personal growth and my involvement in school activities.

VYPE: What other clubs or groups are you involved with at school?

PS: I participate in track, cross country, Student Council, Science Club, FCS, yearbook, NHS, and FCCLA as the Community Service leader.

VYPE: What are your plans after you graduate?

PS: I plan on attending college to pursue one of my dreams of becoming a veterinarian or early education teacher.

VYPE: How do you enjoy spending your free time?

PS: I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and going to our ranch in Pawhuska. I’m also active in the youth program at Mount Hermon Church and enjoy giving back to my community by volunteering with the Homeless Outreach Program and Pregnancy Lighthouse Center.
