Ashtyn Warford
Ketchum High School
Ashtyn Warford is a sophomore at Ketchum High School where she plays point guard and serves on the student council. Warford played for another school last season and averaged 10 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Warford is excited to play for Ketchum and her father who is the head coach, Clif Warford.
“The team is coming together slowly but surely but we are getting better, and I think that we are going to have a good season,” said Warford. “I love that all my teammates work hard and are willing to learn.”
Like many teams across Oklahoma, the goal is to continue to improve and get better as players and as a team.
“The goal for this season is to have a winning record but to also win as many games as possible and to become a better basketball player,” said Warford.
The sophomore said being a student-athlete at Ketchum HS has been great and she is looking forward to being involved in other activities like FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes).
“I love that all of the teachers will work with you and at really good about giving you time to make up work if you have to miss for sports,” said Warford.
In the classroom, Warford said she enjoys her classes, but there is one subject and teacher she likes a little more than others.
“My favorite subject in school is math and my favorite teacher is Mrs. Warford, my math teacher,” said Warford.
With a few seasons left in high school, Warford said she is planning her future now and that future includes college.
“After I graduate, I would like to play basketball in college,” said Warford.
When she’s not on the court or in the classroom, you can usually find Warford binge watching her favorite television shows and spending time with her niece.
