Q & A with Ketchum’s Logan Beisley – Presented by – Goodfella’s Pizza

By Elizabeth Contreras

VYPE: What first drew you to basketball?
Logan Beisley: My parents put me in basketball as soon as I was old enough to play, and I fell in love with it.

VYPE: How would your teammates describe your game, and what do you take the most pride in on the court?
LB: I think my teammates would say I’m a defense-first kind of guy. I don’t look to score a whole bunch, but I love to get the team involved and play with my boys.

VYPE: Every athlete faces adversity. What’s been a challenge you’ve had to push through, and what did it teach you?
LB: Scoring isn’t easy for me, but I understand that if I can find my better scoring teammates, an assist is the same as a bucket.

VYPE: What’s a moment in your basketball career that felt like everything “clicked” for you?
LB: When I realized that scoring isn’t what helps the team the most. I’m not as efficient as the rest of the guys, but my defense and understanding of the game is what really helps.

VYPE: How do you respond in high-pressure moments late in a close game?
LB: I try to anchor down and play the best defense I can, because if someone’s hitting a game-winner, it won’t be on me.

VYPE: What makes your team different from others?
LB: Most of the friends I have today I have met through basketball.

VYPE: Who is a teammate that deserves more recognition, and what makes them special?
LB: One teammate that definitely deserves more love is Cooper Chandler. He has definitely put in countless hours and shoots the 3-ball very well.

VYPE: What’s something about you off the court that people might be surprised to learn?
LB: I feel like I’m better at football than I am at basketball. Coach Brown has brought an amazing program to our school. I can’t thank him enough for what he has done, not only for Ketchum, but for me included.

VYPE: What goals are driving you right now?
LB: I don’t have many years left to play with my team, who I have played with since elementary school, so it’s important to me to give it everything I can and make it as deep as possible for them.
