VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates at Welch?
Whitely Goodwin: I love my team’s encouragement and the positivity they bring.
VYPE: What events do you compete in for track?
WG: I compete in the two-mile, one-mile, 800, 4×100.
VYPE: Who inspires you? Explain.
WG: My Coach who is also my dad. He pushes when I need it and is always there to cheer me on.
VYPE: What makes representing Welch special for you?
WG: Representing Welch is special to me because even though we are small in size, we are competitors.
VYPE: What’s the toughest part about competing in track?
WG: The toughest part about track is staying in shape and the hard workouts.
VYPE: What’s the strength of your game and what are you working on to improve?
WG: I have good endurance. I’m working on improving my time in the 800.
VYPE: What has athletics taught you that you will use later in life?
WG: Athletics has taught me self-discipline and handling success and failure.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate?
WG: After I graduate, I want to become a labor and delivery Nurse.
VYPE: Name three people you would want with you if you were stranded on an island?
WG: I would want Marley, Hadley and Ginger with me on an island.
